some peaches and some screaming

Peaches, fuzzy skinned, gold and red, the smell surrounds you in the orchard right now. Three more days and I believe it will be over. I’m making a pie today, in between harvesting and weeding.

However what’s on my mind is the strange feeling of having finished the first full draft of the horror novel. This was such a different effort from the Nigerian novel, the characters all felt like they lived right down the street.  Laughing a bit over the end, for what good is horror without humor? The plot started to reel around under my fingertips out of control and what fun that was! I really can’t tell if it’s good or not, that’s the problem with a fresh bit of work. But I am going to try it out on my agent and see if she runs screaming for the wrong reasons.
